My aim is not only to teach BSL, but also to help you understand Deaf culture and the Deaf community, giving you the confidence to communicate and build meaningful connections with Deaf BSL users.
Let me introduce myself.
I’m Caroline MacQueen. I am profoundly Deaf, and a BSL user. I love teaching BSL to children, young people and adults. BSL is an important part of rich language, culture, and communication within the Deaf community.
British Sign Language Levels
- BSL lessons for children and young people 16+

BSL Level 1
BSL Level 1 is a beginner British Sign Language qualifications for people who are new to BSL.
It introduces the basic signs, grammar, facial expressions, and visual communication skills needed for simple everyday conversations.
BSL Level 2
BSL Level 2 is the next stage after beginner level. It is designed for learners who already know the basics of British Sign Language and want to build more confidence, fluency, and independence in everyday conversations.
BSL Level 3
BSL Level 3 is an intermediate British Sign Language qualification for learners who already have a good foundation in BSL, usually after completing BSL Level 2.
At this level, learners develop more confident and detailed communication in BSL.
Prices
Level 1
(Morning)
10am-12pm
The BSL Level 1 course costs £460 in total. This includes 30 weeks of teaching, vocabulary, lesson handouts, 1-to-1 tutor support, feedback and the required exam/assessment fee, so there are no separate exam costs to pay. (Online). Start from 7th September 2026 - 12th April 2027.
A £100 deposit is required to secure your place.
Level 1
(Evening)
6pm-8pm
The BSL Level 1 course costs £460 in total. This includes 30 weeks of teaching, vocabulary, lesson handouts, 1-to-1 tutor support, feedback and the required exam/assessment fee, so there are no separate exam costs to pay. (Online). Start from 7th September 2026 - 12th April 2027.
A £100 deposit is required to secure your place.
Level 2
The BSL Level 2 course costs £632 in total. This includes 30 weeks of teaching, vocabulary, lesson handouts, 1-to-1 tutor support, feedback and the required exam/assessment fee, so there are no separate exam costs to pay. (Online).
A £150 deposit is required to secure your place.
1-to-1 Tuition
Private BSL lessons with a tutor, tailored to your level, goals, and learning needs. You will receive personal support, feedback, and help to build your confidence in signing. (Online).
One-to-one BSL tuition costs £35 per hour. This includes personalised teaching, vocabulary practice, lesson handouts, 1-to-1 feedback, and tutor support tailored to your level and learning goal.
